WEST Welcomes George Sabol, Ph.D., P.E., New Senior Technical Advisor in Our Tempe, Arizona Office

WEST Welcomes George Sabol, Ph.D., P.E., new Senior Technical Advisor in our Tempe, Arizona office. Dr. Sabol brings more than 40 years of experience in hydrology, hydraulics, and structure design in the Rocky Mountain West and internationally and is a recognized technical leader in flood hydrology, having prepared several manuals and guidelines for regulatory agencies. That expertise has resulted in his participation as a technical lead and reviewer in the development and use of probable maximum precipitation and probable maximum flood studies for site-specific applications and regional criteria. He has managed major dam repair and rehabilitation engineering projects for both water conservation and hydropower generation, and has served on the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission board of consultants to industry.

Congratulations to the FEMA Coastal Study Management Team for “Outstanding Partnership” as recognized by FEMA Headquarters Risk Management Directorate at this year’s convening of the ten FEMA regions to share floodplain mapping information. Dr. Ray Walton, a WEST Senior Hydraulic Engineer, has served on the CCAMP Technical Advisory Panel reviewing all technical approaches and results. WEST is proud to be part of this long-standing and important collaboration.
